REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE – TELEMEDICINE/VIRTUAL CARE PROGRAM

0.5 FTE Permanent – Salary Range $25.73-$31.27/hour

 

Belleville & Quinte West Community Health Centre (BQWCHC) offers community-focused health promotion, illness prevention, and primary health care services. The Centre supports diverse populations at all ages and stages of the life cycle, with an emphasis on those who are high risk and/or are experiencing barriers to accessing services. BQWCHC is the host organization for the Virtual Care Program in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties – serving clients from Picton in the south to Bancroft in the north and Brighton in the west to Belleville in the east.

The nurse plans, co-ordinates, supports, promotes, and expands access to high quality clinical services utilizing virtual technology. The Nurse utilizes OTN (Ontario Telemedicine Network) and other virtual technologies to schedule service and provides support to clients during consultations including client examinations using tele-diagnostic equipment. The position requires travel to designated partner sites in the Hastings and Prince Edward Counties area.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience in a health care setting – preferably community based
  • Experience with telemedicine services and other virtual platforms
  • Superior self-initiation skills
  • Ability to support both clinical and administrative requirements of the position
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with physicians and other allied healthcare professionals
  • Proficient organizational, time-management, and ability to work independently
  • Excellent evidence of solutions-focused thinking
  • Creative, innovative, and ability to troubleshoot and problem solve issues as they arise
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven experience utilizing electronic health record, scheduling software, and other electronic applications
  • Own a reliable, insured, vehicle
  • Knowledge of local health system and partners, a definite asset
