About the Positions:
The Part Time Evening & Casual positions are for our first floor community, where the residents who are most-dependent reside and receive 24-hour nursing and personal care. The RPN candidates would be in charge of approximately 35-40 residents.

• Part Time Evening availability: 3pm-11pm and alternate weekends. (7am-3pm and 11pm-7am availability an asset as we always have extra shifts to offer).
• Casual Availability: Any combination of 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am throughout the week.

An additional Casual position is for our Assisted Living department, The Assisted Living Nurse provides nursing care to residents (approximately 25-40) who are more independent than our 24-hour floor.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with seniors in a retirement setting or clinical setting
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Possess qualities of empathy, kindness, integrity, responsibility and understanding
• Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team, be resourceful, and demonstrate flexibility
• Experience with Point Click Care (PCC) an asset
• Diploma from an accredited school of nursing and Current registration with CNO

Responsibilities

• Effectively use nursing process – assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Identify plan and provide care for individual residents
• Perform basic nursing skills as listed in Standards of Practice
• Implement the person centre care plan with prescribed medical regime
• Communicate (ongoing) with families/support systems to ensure resident needs are being met
• Respect autonomy and individual choice of the resident
• Cope effectively with emergencies
• Maintain good relationships with multidisciplinary team, families and with the public
• Use leadership skills in a systematic approach to identify problems and solve them
• Provide effective support and supervision of Care Partners (PSW’s)
