Registered Practical Nurse

Position Summary

The Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to residents, in accordance with the policies of the Home and applicable legislation.  As a valued member of Long Term Care and Seniors Services, the Registered Practical Nurse demonstrates a commitment to resident safety by providing quality services in accordance with the organization’s mission and vision.

Position Requirements

  1. Strong knowledge of health care practices and procedures obtained through a Registered Practical Nurse Diploma.
  2. Current unrestricted registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  3. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Registered Practical Nurse
  4. Previous experience in geriatrics, or a long term care nursing facility, or completion of a course in gerontology is preferred.
  5. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening that is less than six (6) months old at time of hire.
  7. As a condition of employment, candidates are required to submit documented results of TB testing, as per Public Health requirements.
  8. Proof of annual CPR recertification.

Compensation

$28.74 - $30.71 per hour (as per Collective Agreement)
